It is generally accepted that the hearing voices network was started by Dr Marius Romme in Amsterdam. He believed that the term schizophrenia was not a helpful one and that the symptoms of hearing voices were not necessarily related to an illness but possibly the results of trauma.
I am starting a Hearing Voices Network in Glasgow. This is a support group for people who hear voices, for us to get together and give mutual support. We have links with the Grampian Hearing Voices Network, the Dundee Hearing Voices Network and the Scottish Hearing Voices Network.
